As I have told in my one of other article that love is about caring so when you would start loving Allah you would see He was already caring about you, a lot! even the time when you were not able to think about who is caring you!
If you want to feel his love just ask Him for forgiveness of your sins and you would see that he would forgive you and if you would start follow His instructions he would also convert your sins into virtues. When you would experience this behavior you would not able to stop your tears and until this feeling is their you would return His love with love and resulting you would follow His instructions. You would save yourself from sins and try to do as much virtues as you can!
So! He was caring you, when you realize this you started caring Him and if this continue! you would experience a very lovely life which was never before!
Allah said in Quran:
And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided.
Love Him, He already loves you that is why He created you!
